King Charles III first Impressions

I recently mentioned to my friend, Sirisha, that in regards to the Royal Family of Great Britain - it's time to get our popcorn and watch the fireworks. With the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II it seems as if all the knives are coming out. Who are wielding said knives? So far, King Charles III and the UK press.

As of this writing a few things have happened. First, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been moved down on the Royal Family's website, just above disgrace Prince Andrew. That doesn't seem that malicious to me since they are not working members of the Royal Family.  However, on the same website is an updated line of succession where Archie and Lilibet are listed - but without titles. Being grandchildren of the current reigning sovereign, they are suppose to now be Prince and Princess, respectively.  But they aren't. Royal Family Website

As a grandfather, Charles seems to be withholding his grandchildren's birthright from them.  Not a good look.

Also, the UK press is having a field day with the Sussex's seemingly on smear campaign that they have held back out of respect for QEII.  William and Kate stepped out for the first time as Prince and Princess of Wales - in Wales - and while four papers had Kate on the cover - the rest had Harry and Meghan in some from of slander.  They report about how Duchess Meghan is increasingly unpopular...yet they keep using her to sell their papers...

I'm interested to see how this continues to play out since there will be new rules with a new King, something that has never happened in my lifetime. I hope there is reconciliation and unity but if Charles has not learned from his experiences (which is my guess) this is all about to get really ugly really fast.

I hope I'm wrong.
